About the Instructor
Welcome to Information Technology for the 2013-14 school year. This course of about 20 students is offered during 4th period during 1st trimester. We explore different areas of technology such as Digital Footprints, Search Engine Structure, Microsoft Office software, gaming development, etc. Students will produce a Digital Portfolio or Learning Journal to serve as an avenue to showcase their work on a daily or weekly basis.
We will be utilizing a blended classroom this trimester. This means it will be a mixture of online learning and lecture. Ingham ISD has developed a "21 Things for Students" course that we, as a department, feel will benefit learners in this ever changing technology world. Professionally, I am beginning my 11th year of teaching at Mason High School. During this 1st trimester I teach 3 different classes: Leadership A, InfoTech I, and Yearbook.
On a personal note, my favorite place to be is the Upper Peninsula. There's nothing better than sitting on the shores of Lake Superior with an awesome beach fire.
I hope you find this course informational and challenging as technology continues to evolve.
