December 9-13
Monday (12/9) - Finish the scavenger hunt from Friday.
We watched Inside the Mind of Google to the 2nd Ad break (23:30 mark), also given a worksheet to complete that includes questions about the company from the video. Finally, download this search assignment, save to your H: drive, open it and then follow the links by using CTRL+CLICK to answer the questions. Assignment link: Introducing Google Inc.
Tuesday (12/10) - Finished watching Inside the Mind of Google (link above) and handed out the Google Inc assignment (also linked above)
Wednesday (12/11) - Announced 2 quizzes for Friday - one is a timed typing test, the second will cover search, Google, and Boolean operators. Watched a segment and had a discussion about Google Glass. You can find the video here.
Turned in all assignments for the unit: Scavenger Hunt, Movie Notes, and Google Inc worksheets.
Thursday (12/12) - Start Digital Footprint (Thing #5)
Create a New Page on your Weebly called "Internet and Digital Footprint"
Add a text box and respond to the following questions:
In class we have been learning about Internet search strategies. In particular, we explored a lot about the search engine giant Google.
1. What have you learned in regard to search strategies? (Narrowing the "hits" returned for your keyword search, Searching for images that have released copyright)
2. With all of the advancements in technology (ie Google Glass, Smart Technologies etc) what impact do you think these changes will have on not only your generation but the next generation of learners? Is technology a staple now? Meaning is it something everyone should have to learn and become "experts" in?

Monday (12/16) - Collected homework (Digital Media Log), Graded Image Chef footprint from Fri on the Weebly, Introduced Visual Organizers and went through an example of how to create an organizer using www.bubbl.us. We also transferred the image to our Weebly homepage. To learn how to use Bubbl, visit the 21things4students site and access Thing #4 - Visual Organizers
Tuesday (12/17) - We had a guest teacher today, as I was out ill. We worked on a Cedar Point project for the bulk of the hour. The link to this assignment is here.
Wednesday (12/18) - Because students needed more time, we allotted more time to the Cedar Point project. Please be sure to upload to your weebly site when completed. We also created a Gliffy.com account - we will utilize and introduce Gliffy in class on Thursday.
Thursday (12/19) - Introduced Gliffy and assigned the "Create Your Ideal House" assignment. Minimum requirement is 4 complete rooms - be creative - then once complete, export to your Weebly site.
